Pulmonary Function Testing, sometimes known as Lung Function Testing, provides objective measurements of lung function and capacity. This testing can help identify specific lung diseases, show response to medications, and even identify portions of the lung affected by lung disease. Lung function tests can be particularly useful in helping to identify asthma or other causes of shortness of breath, chest tightness, cough or wheeze.
